About me

Johannes is a PhD student at the Games Engineering Group of the University of Würzburg and a Research Assistant at the University of Applied Sciences in Neu-Ulm. His research centers on dynamic difficulty adjustment, focusing on adaptive AI in interactive systems to improve user experiences.

He is currently working on his PhD thesis, supervised by Prof. Sebastian von Mammen, which explores how AI can dynamically adapt to user interactions to maintain engagement.

Johannes holds a Bachelor’s degree in Human-Computer Systems and a Master’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction. He has been a Research Assistant at the University of Würzburg from 2020 to 2024, participating in the VIA-VR project as part of the Games Engineering group.

In the project VIA-VR, we aim to create a framework for modeling and staging strongly engaging VR adventures for medical training, prevention, therapy and rehabilitation.
